Over the past 25 years, the control systems underpinning IGAS Filling Systems have undergone a significant transformation—reflecting both technological advancement and our ongoing commitment to performance, reliability, and user experience.
In the early days, our filling systems were built around Siemens Simatic S7-300 PLCs, paired with Siemens moncochrome 6” HMIs. At the time, this architecture provided a robust and dependable platform that served our customers well for decades.
Fast forward to today, and we are now delivering systems based on the Siemens S7-1500 platform (ET200SP architecture), integrated with large-format 21.5” HMIs and powered by the Ignition platform.
This evolution is more than just a hardware upgrade—it represents a shift in how we design, operate, and
support our systems:
Importantly, while the technology has evolved, we remain fully committed to supporting our legacy systems. Many of the S7-300-based installations delivered over 20 years ago are still in operation today, and IGAS continues to provide ongoing service, maintenance, and technical support. By maintaining a long-standing partnership with Siemens, we are also able to offer our customers a clear and structured upgrade path, allowing legacy systems to be modernised in a controlled, cost-effective manner—without compromising operational continuity. This continuity of platform ensures that even our earliest systems are never left behind, giving clients confidence in both the longevity and future-proofing of their investment
Alongside our control system evolution, there are key elements of our designs that have stood the test of time. The m-tech gmbh MPG valve range has been a constant across IGAS projects, providing proven, reliable performance in demanding gas filling applications. This consistency allows us to modernise control systems independently, while retaining valve technology that remains current, fully supported, and well understood. The result is a practical and cost-effective approach to upgrades—protecting existing mechanical investments while bringing the control layer up to modern standards.
While the technology has changed dramatically, our core focus has remained constant: delivering safe, reliable, and efficient filling systems for the gases industry.
